Important Information For Your Hearing Aid Evaluation

How much do hearing aids cost?

Hearing aid costs vary from patient to patient due to different hearing losses and needs.  The price range is from $500 - $3000 per hearing aid.  Hearing aid prices vary based on the amount of digital features and the size of the instrument.  Not all hearing losses are alike.  The amount and the type of loss, and the patient lifestyle dictate to a degree the style of hearing aid and the circuit needed.  Combined with patient preferences, this will dictate price.  If you have a specific price range you need to work in, the Audiologists here can work with you to find an appropriate hearing aid for your loss in your price range.

Does medicare cover hearing aids?

NO.

Do other insurances cover hearing aids?

Most insurances DO NOT cover hearing aids.  There are few insurances with special policies included to cover a portion of hearing aid costs.  You would need to contact your insurance company to find out if you have any coverage.  Our office policy does not allow for hearing aid billing to insurance.  You would be expected to pay for your aids and submit the receipt on your own to your insurance company for reimbursement.  We will provide you with the receipt of your purchase to submit with your claim.

Is Financing Available?

YES. We offer several options:

  • We offer financing through Allegro Credit.  Through Allegro Credit we offer 6 and 12 month interest-free financing.
  • We also offer a 36 month leasing program through Allegro Credit.
  • If you already have a CareCredit account, we do accept CareCredit 6 and 12 month interest-free financing plans.
  • Additional financing is offered through the local credit union, Discovery Federal Credit Union, located just down the road.  Their financing is available for 3,6,12,18 months, and interest rates under 6% or for longer terms at a slightly higher rate.  We have applications for Discovery Federal Credit Union here at our office, or you can apply in person for the “Lifestyle Loan” at the credit union located across the street from Target shopping center.

Is there a trial period?

Yes.  There is a 45 day trial period.  You will be seen for follow-up with the Audiologist during that period, at no additional cost.  If you decide to return your aid within this period, you will receive a refund of all but 10% of your hearing aid cost, up to a maximum retained of $150.  Your Audiologist can review exact costs for you once your hearing aid evaluation is completed.

Are hearing aids guaranteed?

Hearing aids come with a 1, 2 or 3 year manufacturer’s warranty for  repairs.  Details of this warranty will be reviewed by the Audiologist, and vary by manufacturer.

How long do hearing aids last?

Hearing aids last 4-6 years depending on how you take care of them, change in hearing loss, or change in hearing aid technology.
